director and band leader, Dayme
Arocena, a skilful, charismatic
presence in Cuban music with a proud
family lineage. A product of the Havana
Cultura Mix project, which saw Gilles
Peterson mentoring selected producers
from around the world to make a record
in Cuba with local musicians, Arocena
is here joined by a bevvy of Western
musicians and local talent to create a
bubbling album of jazz, house,
electronics and tradition Cuban rhythm.
