| So the boy Miguel rears his head again, this time in an |
| unexpected context but he's more than up for it. Highlight here |
| has to be the awesome reggaematical bass-buster that is 'Batmen', |
| which would have been worth pressing super-loud on one side on |
| its own. 'Phoenix riddim' is a cut-up take on full on |
| batty-grinding, while 'xmas funk' gets nasty with some wonder |
| rhodes moments'. Again 'Banana peel' takes some of the rhythmic |
| elements soul jazz are better known for, makes off with them, |
| inna style reminiscent of the 'hustle' album heard down the |
| phone. But return to 'Batmen' again and again, tuffest bass, |
| phasing guitars and an iron-hard`dub-plate demeanour which is |
| worth admission charge alone. Just remember to leave all knives |
| and guns at the door. |
