Today your favorite homeboyZ bring you a series of remastered re-releases
overtaken by the label "Stay On Target".
Here we go with the original description that maintains a lot of
interesting details for the heads: "While running the classic UK Hip Hop
label, Music of Life I managed to unearth all the original multi track
masters in a West London Warehouse of the previous Publisher. 3 Knights
is a DJ Supreme (Hijack) production. The tapes were transferred after
baking (as so old) by FX Copyroom in London using the best machines ready
for the remix.
Such was the excitement among UK Hip Hop fans and Producers that I was
overwhelmed by the amount of high quality Remixes eventually produced.
Mastered at Curved pressings by Lawrie in an attended session.This
release contains all the Instrumentals and Dub versions from SOT 004 as
well for extra value and completeness.
A personal favourite of mine is AJ's Dub as so Brutal it could be a
Techno track yet it retains that essential hard UK Hip Hop sound. I am
biased as was given the engineering job on the mix down for him in my
studio but under AJ's exacting instructions.
All the versions stand in their own right with or without the vocal while
the Instrumentals provide a welcome break from hearing that vocal again
and again and again.
DJ Tones utterly smashes it with an intro reminnisent of a Chemical
Brothers Club tune with Big Breaks to match. Mistah Bohze goes jazztastic
and Krash Slaughta cuts it up in true Scottish Cut Master style.
If that is not enough the DJ Mada Electro version is SICK. All C& I
(Chrome) strip it down while Spatts (TCM) goes pure Old School Breaks.
Not forgetting the fantastic Sure Shot version to relax with at the
finale."
