       │ This compilation of ambient dub is brimming with             ││
       │ reggae-induced rhythms, samples, and the occasional melody.  ││
       │ Paying homage to dub's origins in Jamaica and the man who    ││
       │ made them, Osbourne Ruddock (or "King Tubby"), this group of ││
       │ dubmasters manipulate the sounds of reggae into a fresh,     ││
       │ sometimes danceable and sometimes just tripy, but always     ││
       │ satisfying electronic compilation. Ras Command creates an    ││
       │ echoing, thumping love dance with "Love Dub," mixing in      ││
       │ flanged drums, vocal echoes, reverbed electric piano, and    ││
       │ flute-synthesizer. Other standouts include P.R.O.M.'s        ││
       │ "Hypnotized," which with its leisurely rhythm, sensuous and  ││
       │ breathy incantation, crisp percussion, and moody organ       ││
       │ melody will surely do just that. "Unbelievers" is notable    ││
       │ for its laid-back, traditional reggae swing and cavernous    ││
       │ percussive whipping. Throughout the set, dark plump bass,    ││
       │ subterranean keys of staccato, and an icy percussion swirl   ││
       │ together, creating a blend of choice mixes that make for a   ││
       │ refreshing slurp of thick and creamy Earthjuice. --Karen     ││
