█ I donÆt hear very many metal bands from Quebec █
█ that arenÆt playing insanely fast or technical, █
█ but Synastry have something else that the general █
█ Quebec scene has - a lack of creative fear. █
█ Industrial metal hasnÆt fared too well lately, my █
█ guess would be an inability to move forward, and █
█ to be honest, it doesnÆt feel that industrial due █
█ to the superficial and standard keyboards, and █
█ cliche industrial samples thrown on top. The metal █
█ side also clashes with the industrial attempts, as █
█ itÆs very sludgey, low-tuned, and grooving. The █
█ band plays in an organic fashion, rather than in a █
█ cold, inhumanly tight fashion that would also go █
█ along with industrial. The vocalist has a very █
█ deep death metal voice, the gurgling almost like █
█ Ross Dolan of Immolation. When you can hear the █
█ voice echoing, itÆs like so ugly sci-fi creature █
█ hiding in the shadows, easily one of the scariest █
█ moments during ôBlind Eyes Bleedö. █
█ For a first album, itÆs a good try, but like most █
█ industrial/metal bands working their way up, they █
█ still need to find a good balance between the █
█ metal and industrial moments, and work out all the █
█ kinks. IÆd personally like to see the band in a █
█ more anti-commercial direction and go with the █
█ power of their slowest moments, which seemed to █
█ work most in their favour. It would certainly be a █
█ challenge for a Quebec band to attempt to play so █
█ slow that it becomes difficult. Only a personal █
█ wish of course. █
