Release Notes:
After a great recent EP on BEEF and previous hits on Hot
Creations, Brazilian HNQO now steps up with a full release on
home label Warung. The Brazil club turns to one of the
country's finest exports for two brand new tracks that are sure
fire floor fillers. HNQO, who runs his own Payperview label and
started out predominently with his own parties, shot to global
acclaim off the back of some big tracks on labels like Defected
and Hot Creations. The Brazilian has since broadened his sound
though, and as well as picking up many more fans for his ever
evolving style and his groove driven DJ sets. The Rain goes
first here and is a big tech house cut with fat, broody bass
rumbling down below lively, silvery percussive slices. It is
funky but dark, physical and forceful and really builds to a
masterful peak. A vocal at the breakdown, as well as some
pained synths, make it all the more dramatic before the drums
return once more. Then comes Waterfall, another engaging, tense
and steamy track with some killer vocal mutterings from a sexy
female voice. Big synth drones flesh out the groove, the
rubbery drums bobble and bounce and the colorful synths that
spray about in the second half prove HNQO really knows how to
get true feeling out of his machines.
