The story goes that the music on this second mysterious NYC 12" are
reworkings of rare tracks from the Burrell brothers Nu Groove label.
Side A is apparently a version of a cut on Rheji Burrell's first
Metro EP from 1988 and Side B is a new mix of something off the first
NY House'n Authority 12" in 1989. So amazing and far out (at the time
and standing up well a decade and a half later), indebted to Chicago
and Detroit but hinting at the emergence of the New York Nu Groove
idiom, it is rumoured that Warp tried to license them at the time but
were unsuccessful.
