This is the debut EP for Breather, released on Flaming Fish records
in 2004. Breather is Shawn Spencer primarily, though it appears that
Dan Levler contributed heavily to the EP as well. The temporary
website for the band has little to no information on the background
of the project, so it's hard to say how long the project has been in
existence. With the brains behind the band Level producing the EP,
there are bound to be some elements of the Level sound present in
the music, and while they are there, the EP manages for the most
part to avoid being overly influenced by that sound. Instead, this
is a much more moody, atmospheric sound, rather than a more overtly
industrial electro-pop approach. With a more subdued approach such
as that, it makes it a little more hard for the songs to really grab
attention. However, the title track and "Secrets" both manage that,
to small degree. With only 17 total minutes of music, it's almost
like the EP is over before you really get a grasp on it, but I do
hear some promising potential here.
Limited to just 500 copies, produced by Level.

MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases
contribute to the growing sale losses of record companies.
Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independant labels
that need sales to survive.
For these reasons we ask you not to distribute this release on public
sites or P2P tools; if more and more receive their music from the net,
artists and labels will have to face even less sells than nowadays.
Please do not consider this release as a substitute to the original, but
only as a way to check out and learn about new music.
We absolutely do not approve of DJs or other individuals that earn
money from pirated music - Don't let them get their hands on it!
By buying the albums you like you disperse the guilt we feel by
releasing this music - Enjoy the music and be fair with the artists!
YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
