On Butches Brew (Take Two) we are introduced to the song by
a wah-wah guitar, a rolled in drum beat and the boogy bass
of reggae. Adding horns to the track brought in by a
chilling bass saxophone and with the cries of the chorus
seeping through the back of the track, Hunter brings in a
dub delay and electronic sounds that, rather than bring you
too far forward in time, simply add to the complexity of the
song. When the music ends on this single it leaves you
wanting the whole album, as a song by itself it begs to be
brought into a greater context with other chilled, relaxed
vibe tunes.
