▀███▄ Gangplank - Walk The 7" ▄███▀
artist : Gangplank
title : Walk The 7"
date : 2004
label : Static Caravan (van75)
genre : Indie
rls. date : March/2005
tracks : 02
bitrate : VBRkbps
size : 15,9 MB
The good folks at Static Caravan kindly asked Fence
Records to record tracks for a 7" single, in particular a
King Creosote side and an HMS Ginafore side. As luck
would have it, Jim Jams was at a loose end in February,
and contributed his drumming talents, xylophone, shakers
and bells to a collection of Fence tracks by The Pictish
Trail and KC.
A plot hatched all by itself, and the first two tracks
out of the bag made the grade. "that bus you missed" /
"the world this side of kilconquhar" by HMS G / KC for
the a-side medley, and "i don't know where to begin" /
"the vice-like gist of it" by PT / KC for the b-side
medley.
"Hooray a new 7" on Static Caravan. Its by Gangplank who
are made up of various members of the Fence Collective.
Think sea shanty folk music. It features contributions
from HMS Ginafore, King Creosote and The Pictish Trail. A
prime example of the new breed of folk music that is
sweeping the nation right now. Essential for all fans of
Fence or curious fans of the likes of James Yorkston and
Adem who want to dig a little deeper, and of course
completely necessary for all you Static Caravan
collectors." - Norman Records
"Another delicious, cockle-warming campfire 7" from the
Static Caravan camp, featuring King Creosote and HMS
Ginafore for a crackling, lo-fi, skewed midnight pop
collection of songs that somehow manage to remind me of
Moonshake / Laika blended through a circus organgrinder.
Absolutely delightful stuff from Static Caravan once
again, 500 copies only so don't miss out!..."
