█ Evil Poetry is still alive, after a long wait they █
█ put out a new release, a professional one; is █
█ amazing the way this band improved their sound in █
█ all aspects; I know this band since previous █
█ releases, their first full length: Letheus █
█ Nocturnus was a loyal proof of death black (also █
█ reviewed in this issue); if I got a good opinion █
█ before now I have a better one. This is the best █
█ example when things changes to get better, no █
█ doubt. █
█ This is their second full length, a new journey to █
█ unknown paths of death metal. This time Evil █
█ Poetry offers a more professional album with fine █
█ music; death metal is the base of their style and █
█ still adding elements of black metal this demons █
█ has just reached a great goal: to release a █
█ masterpiece, I dare to state this because of the █
█ great properties of this album. From Mexico City █
█ comes this release: Signa Stellarum Nigrarum, it █
█ is a dynamic, fine and brutal death metal, how a █
█ band can put together such elements to deliver a █
█ great album? This is what I can easily name as █
█ real metal of death, is not easy to get into this █
█ style but at least I see a hard task to solve, to █
█ discover this enigma trough the powerful and epic █
█ sounds that Evil Poetry brings this time; █
█ I have to recognize at first instance that the █
█ production and recording are made with the highest █
█ quality and I found here a clear sound, drums are █
█ blasting and powerful, of course very brutal, bass █
█ is helping a lot to drums to stay as much closer █
█ as I said and I had to use the earphones to █
█ analyze (and enjoy) this detail all along the cd; █
█ an important attribute of this album is over the █
█ variety of rhythms and arrangements, all the riffs █
█ could be from slow like doom metal to aggressive █
█ and fast like death metal, there are some contents █
█ about black metal like the higher tones. The █
█ vocals are almost all guttural with some choruses █
█ at times. There are too some keyboard parts that █
█ support in a smooth way the music, in fact █
█ keyboards are not a permanent element in the band, █
█ some effects like wind and pre hispanic █
█ instruments are detailing more this album. IÆm █
█ satisfied with this release which is a complete █
█ piece of death metal, Evil Poetry now is better █
█ and one of the most original bands from my █
█ country. █
█ The cd comes with professional booklet with lyrics █
█ enclosed; this is a conceptual album like a █
█ supporting feature for the great music this band █
█ play; I can see lyrics in english, spanish, a █
█ Mexican dialect and an unknown language for me. █
█ The nine songs are divided in three chapters of █
█ three, an epilogue or outro and live bonus tracks. █
█ What are the feelings while listening the new Evil █
█ Poetry? Dark and infernal thoughts, a kind of █
█ pride for the ancient Mexican warriors and much █
█ more deep stuff. My favorite tracks? I would say █
█ the whole album but there are some specials like: █
█ Hollenfarhl, Sacro Bosco, The Cry Of The Moon █
█ (instrumental with acoustic parts) and of course █
█ the title track: Signa Stellarum Nigrarum. If you █
█ are fan of bands like Death, Dismember, Samael or █
█ At The Gates this is surely for you. █
