Release Notes:
A Retrospective Journey Through Detroit, Chicago and New York Underground House
Sounds.
æCity to CityÆ is a journey through Chicago, Detroit and NY underground house
sounds, from super hard to find Chicago house classics such as æHouse flashbackÆ
on the mysterious Streetfire records or Mr Fingers æYou're Someone SpecialÆ, to
recent productions by techno genius Jeff Mills (ExpandedÆ) or æHouse Music Will
Never DieÆ by Glenn Underground, æCity to CityÆ also presents æunderratedÆ
tracks such as the very sought after æKeep MovinÆ by Mike Perras.
This is definitely not a æClassic House compilationÆ , but more a very
personal selection of older and newer tracks that have a very special place
in DJ DeepÆs heart.
æi feel they have a lot of characters à..House music would not mean the same
thing if i did not know them.Æ DJ Deep
An extremely well-done collection of underground house from the Chicago,
Detroit, and New York scenes of the past 20 years -- not a "greatest hits" at
all, but an even-better assortment of hard to find gems and oft-overlooked
singles! DJ Deep put the whole thing together, and he's really given the matter
some careful consideration -- a fact that's apparent when you read his notes on
each tune in the set. Disc 1 features a mixed assortment of Chicago and Detroit
work from years back, and disc 2 is an unmixed collection that brings the groove
into later years. There's a heck of a lot here that you'll have a hard time
finding anywhere else
CD1 is titled "Chicago /Detroit Express" (And is mixed), whilst CD2 is known as
(The) "Journey To The Center", and is unmixed unlike its counterpart.
