born in jamaica, and raised in new jersey, desmond williams has
been experimenting with electronic music for nearly fifteen years.
while working with legendary dub engineer scientist, his unique
and highly intricate production style caught the ear of thievery
corporation and williams soon became an essential part of esl
studios. desmond engineered several cuts on the mirror conspiracy
as well as the new superb tracks from esl resident dj farid.
remixes include blue states' walkabout and thunderball's heart of
the hustler.
desmond's solo productions are steeped in dub reggae, funk,
afro-beat, brazilan rhythms and other eclectic sounds. his first
two eps, theme from a dream and um favor, caused a big stir in the
downtempo community and has been in constant play on the esl hi-fi.
