▓████▓▌ songstress Kelly Robinson has a self-created style ▓▌
▓████▓▌ lovingly referred to as "alt-jazz". Imagine a mix ▓▌
▓████▓▌ of Tori Amos' raw emotion, Sarah McLachlan's ▓▌
▓████▓▌ sensitivity, and Diana Krall's jazz stylings, and ▓▌
▓████▓▌ you will get a hint of the original jazz music ▓▌
▓████▓▌ which Kelly writes and performs. Her voice has a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ warmth and maturity beyond her years in its sexy ▓▌
▓████▓▌ whisper one minute and emotion-charged roar the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ next. With unending creativity, her melodies soar ▓▌
▓████▓▌ freely. Her lyrics are pointed, clever, and quirky, ▓▌

▓████▓▌ and 33s on their vintage record player. Dean ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Martin, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee, and Rosemary ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Clooney filled her ears. It was the beginning of a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ love affair with vocal music. At age 16, Kelly ▓▌
▓████▓▌ found herself on stage, performing in numerous ▓▌
▓████▓▌ concerts and shows as a soloist before being asked ▓▌
▓████▓▌ to front an 18 piece jazz orchestra. At last! The ▓▌
▓████▓▌ love! The passion! Embracing jazz repertoire at its ▓▌
▓████▓▌ finest, Kelly sang all the best jazz standards. But ▓▌
▓████▓▌ she wanted more. Singing the words of brilliant ▓▌
▓████▓▌ songwriters allowed her to interpret their ▓▌
▓████▓▌ beautiful songs but fell short of letting her full ▓▌
▓████▓▌ imagination take charge. Fueled by her love of ▓▌
▓████▓▌ standards, Kelly started to compose her own songs. ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Writing allowed her to take the music influences ▓▌
▓████▓▌ that excite her senses and add her own voice, ▓▌
▓████▓▌ describing the life, love, and experiences she ▓▌
▓████▓▌ knows. Indeed, she has taken the genre beyond a ▓▌
▓████▓▌ collection of jazz standards to set a new standard ▓▌

▓████▓▌ industry: Kelly's song "My Arrival" is featured in ▓▌
▓████▓▌ the OMNI Television film "Just Arrived", currently ▓▌
▓████▓▌ enjoying regular broadcasts on OMNI Television ▓▌
▓████▓▌ (Ontario). Kelly's many singing awards include ▓▌
▓████▓▌ first place winner in the 2003 Winnipeg Music ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Festival Canadian Composition category, and ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Recommendation to the 2003 Provincial Music ▓▌
▓████▓▌ Festival to represent Winnipeg where she was ▓▌
▓████▓▌ awarded the Gold Medal for Canadian Composition in ▓▌
▓████▓▌ the province of Manitoba. Kelly is the recipient of ▓▌
▓████▓▌ the Oscar Peterson / Conservatory Canada medal ▓▌
▓████▓▌ (2004) for highest mark nationally by a senior ▓▌
▓████▓▌ level vocalist. She is a recent graduate of the ▓▌
▓████▓▌ University of Manitoba School of Music with a major ▓▌
▓████▓▌ in Voice Performance and a minor in Composition. ▓▌
