Tracks 1, 3 written by tricky/E.Barrier/W.Griffin
Track 2 written by Tricky
Tracks 1 & 3 containelements of "To The Listeners" by Eric B & Rakim.
Track 1 remix & additional production by The Stereo MC's
trumpet by Roddy Lorimar
Track 2 remix & additional production by A Guy Called Gerald.
Single taken from Tricky's difficult 2nd solo album "Pre-Millenium
Tension", this is a perfect example in musical paranoia. Tricky grew
frustrated with label he was signed to and the marketing policy, his
relationship with Martina (who once again provides vocals for this song)
was dissolving in a rather painfull and tense fashion and the entire
album was very claustrophobic and dark, as if reflecting his own
personal problems. The mixes are also very off beat - Stereo MC's
provide a kooky mix of the title track that is accented by some lonely
trumpet bits and A Guy Called Gerald turns in a harsh drum & bass remix
if Piano. The album version is still tops and is one of his best songs
ever.
