│║ Furthermore my musical journey around the world ║ │
│║ goes on Hard Rock / Melodic Rock! This time, I ║ │
│║ leave European territories in the direction of ║ │
│║ overseas and make a stop in Canada, a country ║ │
│║ from which I have always received very good ║ │
│║ quality, no matter what genre the performers ║ │
│║ actually came from. Also in the band Emerald ║ │
│║ Rain, which is to be discussed here, you ║ │
│║ immediately notice that no newcomers are at ║ │
│║ work, as the bandinfo finally confirms, after ║ │
│║ all, it is already their sixth release (five ║ │
│║ studio albums, a live album) "Broken Saviors" ║ │
│║ made their debut. ║ │
│║ Much of her live performances impressed Magnum ║ │
│║ singer Bob Catley the band as a backing band for ║ │
│║ his first solo tour. ║ │
│║ Even in terms of producer activity, the band ║ │
│║ members (owner of their own sound studios) have ║ │
│║ already had some experience, so they sat on the ║ │
│║ control knobs for acts like Cauterize, Not By ║ │
│║ Choice, The Livid And Rides. ║ │
│║ Their new studio studio "Sleepwalk", which will ║ │
│║ be available in the records from August 15, ║ │
│║ 2005, has been re-released as the original ║ │
│║ drummer Lorne Boyle is now a longtime base, ║ │
│║ consisting of Murray Daigle (lead vocals), Mike ║ │
│║ Dmitrovic (Guitars) and Sean Gregory (bass), ║ │
│║ have returned. ║ │
│║ The opener "Can not Stop Bleeding" is a real ║ │
│║ heater. Driving guitarsgrooves, aggressive ║ │
│║ battle song, with which you could send a horde ║ │
│║ of soldiers into the battle, as well as a messy ║ │
│║ played E-solo, of sleepwalker no trace. ║ │
│║ After two Van Halen / Bon Jovi-modest pieces, ║ │
│║ with a very melodically oriented refrain, the ║ │
│║ album "Sleepwalk" is followed by the hit song. A ║ │
│║ dramatic guitars, a touch of Metallica with ║ │
│║ bombastically heavy sound, and a shrieking solo ║ │
│║ part of the outstanding guitarist Mike ║ │
│║ Dmitrovic, who knows how to set highlights in ║ │
│║ almost every song. ║ │
│║ From the seventh song, the CD tilts into ║ │
│║ somewhat softer spectra and clearly more ║ │
│║ commercially oriented tendencies become ║ │
│║ recognizable. The hitherto rather dominant hard ║ │
│║ / heavy rock swings into the uptempo melodic ║ │
│║ rock track. The Canadian colleagues from Harem ║ │
│║ Scarem, Bon Jovi, Nickelback or Van Halen / ║ │
│║ Sammy Hagar spontaneously come to mind in the ║ │
│║ face of the melodic vocal lines, mostly in the ║ │
│║ choruses. ║ │
│║ My colleague, Ella, wrote in one of her last ║ │
│║ reviews that ballads should be included in the ║ │
│║ repertoire not only for the ballad's will. A ║ │
│║ good example of this is the final "Miracle", ║ │
│║ which does not want to fit into the restful ║ │
│║ program, which is quite right and fast. The ║ │
│║ semi-acoustic number is quite melodic and also ║ │
│║ has a nice lead solo, but Daigle's vocals in ║ │
│║ this case sound so narrow that he would have ║ │
│║ sold the song better to Spandau Ballet. The play ║ │
│║ has nothing to look for on the album. ║ │
│║ The good overall impression is, however, only ║ │
│║ slightly reduced. "Sleepwalk" by Emerald Rain, ║ │
│║ you can be quite conscious, even before going to ║ │
│║ bed, for the rest I still lack the experience, ║ │
│║ according to my wife, she has so far not yet at ║ │
