     the slip n slide label has more series running than channel 4 and  
     this new one promises to be very interesting. best known for       
     classy, soulful house, here the acklam road crew have decided to   
     dabble in music of a more experimental variety. to start things    
     off they've brought in philly's king britt to put together a set   
     with the working title 'jazzmental'. now, it's not jazz in any of  
     the accepted senses but the selected artists/mixers approaches to  
     their music have all the requisite jazz elements. best example is  
     ennio morricone's 'come maddanela'. the cosmos remix injects it    
     with a huge percussion to drive the enigmatic music onward. other  
     big names include vikter duplaix, mark de clive lowe and bugz in   
     the attic. their 'booty la la' rides a vintage herbie hancock      
     groove. fertile ground's 'living in the light' is also included    
     with the basement boys mix giving it more of a latin twist. the    
     king appears himself in his scuba guise. his tune is the set's     
     real exclusive. featuring the vocals of lizz fields, 'our time' is 
     a deep, broken beat ballad that gives the collection a real soul   
     perspective.
