│║ Dyecrest from Finland was founded about ten ║ │
│║ years ago. In 2003, when they changed their name ║ │
│║ from Dyecast to Dyecrest things started to get ║ │
│║ more seriously. Last years debut album æThe Way ║ │
│║ Of PainÆ received a great response by the ║ │
│║ international press. An album with inventive ║ │
│║ heavy metal played by talented musicians, but ║ │
│║ unfortunately the low budget production didnÆt ║ │
│║ do the album much good. Recently Dyecrest ║ │
│║ released their second album, entitled æThis Is ║ │
│║ My WorldÆ. In many ways this album is a logical ║ │
│║ successor of æThe Way Of PainÆ, although there ║ │
│║ are a few important differences. First there is ║ │
│║ new vocalist Kimmo Blom, who is a considerable ║ │
│║ improvement to the band. His singing reminds me ║ │
│║ a little of Jorn Lande and I might say he is ║ │
│║ definitely a promising vocalist. I would not be ║ │
│║ surprised if some day he will be lead vocalist ║ │
│║ in a famous metal act. Another big difference to ║ │
│║ DyecrestÆs debut is the grown up song writing on ║ │
│║ æThis Is My WorldÆ. The band made a lot of ║ │
│║ progress and established an own identity. ║ │
│║ Besides all that, in comparison to æMy Way Of ║ │
│║ PainÆ the albumÆs production is excellent and ║ │
│║ nothing will stand in their way climbing to the ║ │
│║ top. ║ │

│║ DyecrestÆs music reminds me of a more melodic ║ │
│║ Metal Church and also of Tad Morose, combined ║ │
│║ with inventive background vocals which on the ║ │
│║ other hand remind me of Shadow Gallery. ║ │
│║ Unfortunately opening track æFight Fear With ║ │
│║ FireÆ is a bit disappointing due to the slow ║ │
│║ tempo, but after that there are only highlights ║ │
│║ on the album, like æRush Of LifeÆ for instance, ║ │
│║ a fast song with a remarkable chorus. You should ║ │
│║ also listen to classic tracks as æMan Who Was ║ │
│║ MeÆ or æDream Of CrownÆ, and you will understand ║ │
│║ what I mean. We will definitely hear a lot more ║ │
│║ of Dyecrest in the near future. æThis Is My ║ │
│║ WorldÆ is an excellent album and it will be only ║ │
│║ a matter of time before Dyecrest will make their ║ │
│║ way to the top! ║ │
