│║ ║ │
│║ was no stranger the great English vocalist ║ │
│║ Steve Grimmett when, already begun the decade of ║ │
│║ the 90s, formed the group Lionsheart. The blond ║ │
│║ vocalist was already editing a magnificent ║ │
│║ record trilogy in the always basic and essential ║ │
│║ eighties with Grim Reaper, a group with which he ║ │
│║ moved in a very oriented style in NWOBHM (New ║ │
│║ Wave of British Heavy Metal) and that, although ║ │
│║ Did not obtain the recognition that deserved ║ │
│║ based on its quality, it showed the tremendous ║ │
│║ vocal category that Grimmett had. This meant ║ │
│║ that the group of Thrash Metal Onslaught ║ │
│║ contracted its services in the year 1989, thus ║ │
│║ publishing the more that correct album "In ║ │
│║ Search of Sanity". ║ │
│║ However - and therefore showing its versatility ║ │
│║ - Steve Grimmett overturned with these ║ │
│║ Lionsheart towards a more Hard / Heavy slope. ║ │
│║ With their characteristic voice (inspired in a ║ │
│║ certain way, in this new proposal, by David ║ │
│║ Coverdale) and a remarkable instrumental ║ │
│║ accompaniment, they managed in the year 1992 to ║ │
│║ publish a debut album quite remarkable and that ║ │
│║ obtained a remarkable success in the Japanese ║ │
│║ market (only that At that time showed a maximum ║ │
│║ interest in the genre). ║ │
│║ A couple of years later, with this "Pride In ║ │
│║ Tact" that we are dealing with today, Lionsheart ║ │
│║ delved a bit more in its hardrockero approach ║ │
│║ and they managed to take another work of ║ │
│║ remarkable level, perhaps a small step below its ║ │
│║ excelent debut, but leaving of Manifested- ║ │
│║ again-the total success of the group to deliver ║ │
│║ rather attractive and well-developed issues on ║ │
│║ the compositional level. The most notable ║ │
│║ development on this second album comes with ║ │
│║ guitarist Nick Burr (who had previously worked ║ │
│║ with former Iron Maiden Paul Di'Anno) and who ║ │
│║ replaced twins Steve and Mark Owers in the six ║ │
│║ Ropes ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ á ║ │
│║ Opening the album with the theme "Deja Vu", ║ │
│║ which has strong strength and hardrocker ║ │
│║ dynamism, the group can come to remember in the ║ │
│║ approach of this composition to the era of Sammy ║ │
│║ Hagar in Van Halen, especially in his very ║ │
│║ convincing refrain . A start that was quite ║ │
│║ successful in all aspects and that links us with ║ │
│║ a rhythmic beat of old flavor in "I'll Stand ║ │
│║ Up", giving off the interpretive class with ║ │
│║ which the group knows how to perform in this ║ │
│║ type of terrain. ║ │
│║ More catchy is the following "I Believe In ║ │
│║ Love", very focused on becoming a hit of rock ║ │
│║ radiof≤rmulas and endowed with a bridge / chorus ║ │
│║ that knows how to catch the listener from his ║ │
│║ most immediate listening. A subject where ║ │
│║ Grimmett faces with a lot of 'coverdalesca' ║ │
│║ attitude and where you can not detract from the ║ │
│║ good manners that manifests Nick Burr with his ║ │
│║ guitar work. The essence of classic hardrockero ║ │
│║ character returns to manifest itself with "Love ║ │
│║ Remains" and its very achieved vocal rhythm, ║ │
│║ perhaps revealing some simplicity in its ║ │
│║ development but that does not decline in ║ │
│║ efficiency and melodic attraction. ║ │
│║ In "Something For Nothing" we find a firm and ║ │
│║ suggestive fusion between Burr's guitar (both in ║ │
│║ his riff and solo) and those evident influences ║ │
│║ Coverdale that shows Grimmett defining a theme ║ │
│║ that continues to maintain the good qualities of ║ │
│║ the album. The most intimate side of this second ║ │
│║ work of the group is found in the ballad "Pain ║ │
│║ In My Heart", with a Grimmett looking ║ │
│║ magnificent throughout the length and width of ║ │
│║ the subject with their very well-groomed vocal ║ │
│║ lines. ║ │
│║ Within the remarkable level that comes offering ║ │
│║ the disc, arrived at this point of the same it ║ │
│║ is necessary to emphasize a pair of subjects ║ │
│║ that it magnifies even more if it fits. The ║ │
│║ first one, "Gods Of War", shows Lionsheart in ║ │
│║ all its fullness of interpretation and with a ║ │
│║ certain epic air in its definition. While in ║ │
│║ "Stronger Than Steel" the group shows us a well ║ │
│║ worked song in the composition aspect, with a ║ │
│║ great melodic richness and where the quality ║ │
│║ that comes to transmit can be distinguished to ║ │
│║ kilometers of distance. ║ │
│║ The cover of the album comes from the hand of ║ │
│║ the song "Take A Little Piece Of My Heart" that ║ │
│║ Soul singer Erma Franklin originally recorded in ║ │
│║ the 60s, and which Lionsheart knows how to take ║ │
│║ it flawlessly to hardrock land. Undoubtedly a ║ │
│║ very captivating and catchy cut, whose peak is ║ │
│║ found in its magical refrain. The second ballad ║ │
│║ is presented with "Who's The Wise Man (Jacie's ║ │
│║ Song)", an acoustic piece of southern air that ║ │
│║ proposes variety to the album. ║ │
│║ The final stretch of this work of the year '94 ║ │
│║ appears with "I'll Be There". Mid-tempo and ║ │
│║ perhaps not surprising too much, but not a bit ║ │
│║ off the general concept of the album ... And to ║ │
│║ close, the group suggests a return to his ║ │
│║ proposal more hardrockera with "Relentless" and ║ │
│║ its rhythm Vacil≤n, resulting a very successful ║ │
│║ colophon for this remarkable "Pride In Tact". ║ │
│║ In short, another appreciable and formidable ║ │
│║ example of what the Hard-Rock panorama had in ║ │
│║ the convulsive decade of the 90s for that genre. ║ │
│║ An album where, once again, ║ │
│║ ║ │
