Put Prince, Sparks, and even a bit of Buggles in a
blender, and what do you make? No, not a horrible
mess, but the delicious sound of Clor, arguably the
most innovative band coming out of London right now.
Defining Clor is impossible. Wonky funk, camp
electro, techno, angular guitars and glorious
melodies are what we have here with their first
single 'proper'. Barry Dobbins' American-tinged
vocals, the slamming riffs, and part-electronic
drumbeats combined with samples and a crooked
bassline make this a classic pop tune.
They're not trying to fit in to any particular scene,
Clor are an entirely new beast, creating a genre all
of their own, with compositions fresh from what seems
to be outer space. Get ready for abduction soon - you
won't be able to resist.
