█ I quite like this album -- but it's not really a █
█ Mama's Boys album. That is, it's such a radical █
█ departure from the '80s hard rock the McManus lads █
█ established on their previous releases that they █
█ should've just gone with a new band name to go █
█ along with the new style. Sonically, it's out with █
█ the manic guitar from Professor Pat, in with the █
█ keyboard pads and synth drums; out with John's █
█ rough-and-tumble vocals, in with Keith Murrell's █
█ smooth leads. Nothing that'll rock your nuggets █
█ off, but still an enjoyable slice of well-crafted █
█ AOR. Too bad the change didn't bring them the █
█ recognition they thought it would. Murrell's █
█ performance here is one of the best of the genre █
█ and well worth the bottom-dollar bargain bin price █
█ I paid. If you can find this disc, grab it -- but █
█ if you're expecting another set of "Crazy Daisy's" █
█ and find yourself choking on "In Over My Head," █
█ don't say I didn't warn you. 75/100 █
