DJ Tall's Biography
DJ Tall ( Standa Soukop ) started out on the decks in 1997 doing the
rounds at many clubs both in Prague and in Plzen gaining experience
and developing his own sound . He gained a residency at Moravian
Production Agency Nora and started with them the night 'Foundsound',
now in its 3rd year. Now you can find him playing every weekend both
here and on journeys venturing to other countries such as Germany,
Slovakia, Poland, Ireland and the UK .
Back in 2000 he was chosen for the Red Bull Music Academy in Dublin
and was priveledged to gain experience from and compose with the
likes of Mathew Herbert, Mad Professor and Christian Vogel
His style as a DJ is not specific to one style but takes in the
eclectic flavours of the freestyle scene including Nu Jazz ,
Brokenbeats , Trip Hop , Jazz House and Leftfield . He is resident at
new Prague night Salamanda Sessions as well as part of the Eclectica
Nights at Akropolis where he has played alongside friends and guests
from Europe including Moonstarr, Dirk Rumpff, Crate Soul Brothers and
Alex Dallas . Not content with just plain Djing Tall' s latest
project sees him deliver sets where he plays alongside live musicians
on Keys, Flute, Sax and Drums .
Tall is part of new Prauge label Red Salamanda Records where he looks
after promotion and helps to seek out new music. Studio productions
are also in progress and he recently teamed up with friend ZKA4T (
Matous Godik ) to work on a remix together.
The result can be found on Red Salamanda Records entitled 'Drop the
Bomb' ( ZKA4T meets DJ Tall Remix ) .
