This is a more sophisticated outing than Laced With
Romance. Some of the songs could probably have been
featured on Laced With Romance and fit right in. On
the other hand, the band is technically more
proficient now, and this album has significantly more
to do with exploring guitar tones, mood, and tension.
The melodies are still very good and the band has
maintained their edge, but this album will come to you
in a more subtle way than the debut. Accept it on its
own terms, and play this smart follow-up loud. The
Ponys are headed for something big.
