FRANCESCO DIAZ - HOUSE GOURMET
With his compilation series Luxury House, Exciting House Mix,
Francesco Diaz in the Mix and Ibiza House Session, German producer
and DJ Francesco Diaz has established himself as the big man for
exuberant house parties. All compilations have been released in
several editions and can be summarized as music with a rare feelgood
groove. Enthusiastic guest book entries on his website mirror the
enormous appreciation on the side of his fans who love both his
compilations and DJ sets.
Talking about house parties you have to see Francesco's approach in a
double sense. On the one hand "Luxury House" (and its successor
"Exciting House Mix") was one of the pioneering releases combining
club house grooves with sophisticated cocktail lounge atmosphere,
establishing a sound likewise designed for stylish living-rooms and
sporty cars. His trademark style includes soulful songs and jazzy
samples and has equally conquered Ibiza and Scandinavia. On the other
hand, Francesco has been touring the world as a DJ for years and
knows exactly what time it is. His DJ sets come with a groove you got
to dance to with the biggest grin. To gain a quick idea of his DJ
style tune in to "Ibiza House Sessions 2004" which is
state-of-the-art house music for party people. Francesco is the guy
who knows what you are after and feeds you all you need for a grand
night out.
Back in 1994, Francesco Diaz hit the market with his first project
"New Attitude - When I see you again". Shortly afterwards he met
George Morel (Strictly Rhythm/NYC) which finally led to Francesco
taking over the management (Europe) for George's label Groove On in
1998. Licensing deals with UK, Benelux, Italy, France and other
European countries soon proved his golden touch. His hugely
successful compilation series "Luxury House" (continued until today
under a slightly different name) propelled his career under his own
name. Right from the start "Luxury House for an Exciting Evening at
Home" gained him much respect and recognition within the house
community. Since this ground-breaking release, he keeps on expanding
his international network as the basis for his top-notch DJ sets and
compilation releases.
February 2001 witnessed his first single release as Francesco Diaz
feat. Karl Frierson "Say a little Prayer" (UCA Records) with remixes
of George Morel Terry Lee Brown jr. - which again was exclusively
licensed to 6 leading European markets and will be re-released in
2005 with new mixes on Germany's renowned House Label Muschitunes.
With remixes for the likes of Kool the Gang feat. Lauryn Hill,
George Morel, Esteban Garcia and Kim Styles, he underpinned his
reputation as top house producer. His "Ibiza House Sessions" of 2001
and 2002 climbed to top positions of the Official Suisse Compilation
Charts and were supported by numerous gigs in several European
countries. Every year and right in time for the opening of the Ibiza
season, this club-oriented series continues to present the hottest
tracks of the genre's top stars juxtaposing them with insider's tips
and hard-to-get remix versions.
In May 2003 Francesco Diaz renamed his flagship compilation series
into "An Exciting House Mix" ("for a Glamorous Weekend in Milano" as
volume 1) and managed to further increase the success of the
legendary "Luxury House" series. Shortly before the turn of the year,
the second edition of "Francesco Diaz in the Mix" hit the stores,
followed in spring 2004 by the second coming of the "Exciting House
Mix" series which is suitably titled "àfor a Lovely Springwalk." This
edition is considered his most personal compilation and once more
gained him new respect and great sales figures, especially on Ibiza.
Coinciding with "Lovely Springwalk", the second single Francesco Diaz
feat. Benjamin Boyce 2004 "Across The Sea" was released on cult label
Muschitunes and rotated on the turntables of Pound Boys, Soul
Providers and many more.
