Karbido's music is a crazy jazz! It's highly
difficult to classify that sort of music,
however, the album is based on jazz
('Czolg'), psychedelic rock ('Kawa I
papierosy'), a little bit of metal ('Widok'),
some core-elements and sung poetry, a dose of
humor ('Lizzard' and titles of songs)and
finally on Belarusian folk ('Dobryviechar')
with the vocal of la Tuva.
The album is very varied, each hit is only
apparently similar to one another, but at the
same time the album is a unity. It is a great
talent to record something like that. Some of
the members of Karbido have been musicians
for a long time and played e.g. in Kormorans.
They are all brilliant musicians, and so the
psychedelic elements, which are found on the
album in great amounts, are a product of
experience (and not the lack of it as it
happens in some other cases).
Apart from that above, Karbido 'plays' with
music without being very much sophisticated,
thanks to which the music is easily
understood, although it's definitely not of a
simple sort. Along with listening to the CD
the appetite rises, and each time one can
explore new interesting bits not discovered
yet. One of the masterpieces, in my opinion,
is 'Hopsah'-the 8th track on the album, which
can be compared to Hasidic New Wave or David
Krakauer.
