The latest volume in Global Underground's Nu Breed series has arrived,
this time in the hands of that Tyrant tea boy, Lee Burridge. Anyone who's
seen Lee Burridge live knows that one of his strengths is his ability to
play across the board, blending breakbeats, house and techno together
into a consistent flowing mix.
CD1 starts with the trippiness of Marshall Jefferson's 'Mushrooms',
moving through the funk of Mood II Swing into Photek's superb
'Glamourama'. From here the breaks kick in, before Rhythmcentric's
'New School Fusion' heralds the arrival of full on progressive madness,
alongside the acclaimed 'Do It' by Mash Up, moving along before finishing
perfectly with 'When I Fall' by Axus.
CD2 has a more well known selection of tracks, from the deep building
sounds of Israel's up and coming Mo Shic & Zeidan with 'Nightstalker' to
the sick beats of Lypid's The Sign's Alive. From here we hurtle through a
mass of tracks with big basslines, from the likes of Deviant's Animated,
and acclaimed breakbeat outfit BLIM till the cd finishes with Plantastic's
'Artifacts' thus bringing another global journey through the underground
with one of the scene's best up and coming 'nu breed' djs to an end.
All in all, another unique addition to what is fast becoming a series to
rival its elder and more established Global Underground label.
Check it out.
