| Versatile producer Liam Farrell has been involved in numerous |
| projects on the French musical scene ranging from producing and |
| being an active member of hardcore and conscious hip-hop outfit |
| Assassin to collaborating with High Life living legend Tony Allen. |
| |
| Born in Ireland, Doctor L moved to Paris in his early twenties and |
| soon began to work as a producer for many local hip hop crews. His |
| solo recording career picked up with his 1998 release on Artefact |
| The Navigator. It's Bad So Bad was given heavy airplay on local |
| futuristic radio Nova and soon became an underground hit. |

| The Navigator was followed up by the release of the Exploring The |
| Inside World which was hailed as an abstract Hip-Hop masterpiece |
| by the international musical press.Whilst remaining active as a |
| producer of other people's music, Doctor L 's own solo releases |
| took an increasingly experimental route as exemplified by his |
| latest Eps :The Bugg ( under the Da Link moniker ), The Give Away |
| Box and Mountains Will Never Surrender where he skilfully |
| juxtaposes experimental break beat and [some] classic pop moments. |
| Those two Eps were released by Jive Records (oddly enough Britney |
| Spears' record label) and a full fledged LP ( Temple On Every |
| Street) ensued in October 2000. |

| Meanwhile, the Afro-beat cognoscenti may have heard of Farrell's |
| producing work on Tony Allen's "Black Voices" LP which lead to a |
| series of concerts where electronic wizardry was mixed with |
| straight Nigerian high life. |
| |
| A mere underground Hip Hop producer five years ago, Farret now |
| stands as one of Paris most prolific and innovative producer whose |
| musical gusto and eagerness at broadening his sound spectrum lead |
| to the carving of refreshingly new sounds. |
