            █║░  jazzanova comes kosma, a side project  ░║█
            █║░  that promises to be more than          ░║█
            █║░  exciting with his debut release ænew   ░║█
            █║░  aspectsÆ.  the name itself suggests    ░║█
            █║░  that weÆll be privy to something       ░║█
            █║░  different and exciting, but thatÆs     ░║█
            █║░  just the beginning!                    ░║█
            █║░                                         ░║█
            █║░  with a track listing dotted with       ░║█
            █║░  (tba)s and a note at the bottom of     ░║█
            █║░  the release saying that æall tracks    ░║█
            █║░  are not mastered nor finally mixedÆ i  ░║█
            █║░  knew i was in for a treat!  slipping   ░║█
            █║░  it into the cd player and tossing the  ░║█
            █║░  headphones on for a true               ░║█
            █║░  downbeat/nu-jazz groundbreaker. the    ░║█
            █║░  first track is a single drum beat      ░║█
            █║░  followed by a pause for the first      ░║█
            █║░  real track æaugenblickeÆ that is       ░║█
            █║░  funky, deep and long (about nine       ░║█
            █║░  minutes or so) but has some            ░║█
            █║░  interesting stop starts towards the    ░║█
            █║░  end of the track with the bass being   ░║█
            █║░  using in conjunction with some         ░║█
            █║░  traditional instruments. following on  ░║█
            █║░  is the eerie piano of æodessaÆ that    ░║█
            █║░  sounds like its been made for the      ░║█
            █║░  original score of a horror film but    ░║█
            █║░  æaspekteÆ moves in slowly but with a   ░║█
            █║░  orchestral howl builds tension and     ░║█
            █║░  scares the listener into               ░║█
            █║░  anticipation, and with slow building   ░║█
            █║░  electronic samples then in comes the   ░║█
            █║░  deep beat that takes over with the     ░║█
            █║░  samples falling into the shadows. the  ░║█
            █║░  beat couples itself with some          ░║█
            █║░  soothing female vocals in the later    ░║█
            █║░  sections of the track for a finale     ░║█
            █║░  finish.                                ░║█
            █║░                                         ░║█
            █║░  the next few tracks are deeply         ░║█
            █║░  individual like æflowÆ; thatÆs         ░║█
            █║░  melodic and acoustically driven with   ░║█
            █║░  a break beat, æsmall swinging          ░║█
            █║░  istanbulÆ is a minimalistic vocal      ░║█
            █║░  track, the first for this release in   ░║█
            █║░  fact that will find itself on many a   ░║█
            █║░  chill out compilation once this        ░║█
            █║░  release is finally mastered and hits   ░║█
            █║░  the shelves. starting off with a       ░║█
            █║░  female vocal sample æheliocentricÆ     ░║█
            █║░  soon plunges into a deep beat with     ░║█
            █║░  strings, electronics and slow build    ░║█
            █║░  up to a electronic masterpiece with    ░║█
            █║░  synthed out arabic samples this track  ░║█
            █║░  gets crazier and faster as the beat    ░║█
            █║░  gets fatter towards the end! with the  ░║█
            █║░  release picking up pace another        ░║█
            █║░  electronically driven track comes in,  ░║█
            █║░  æeffatholar cityÆ has a big fat beat   ░║█
            █║░  combined with some awesome blippy      ░║█
            █║░  little electronics doing their thing,  ░║█
            █║░  there are some vocals mixed in and a   ░║█
            █║░  nice little voice over sample in the   ░║█
            █║░  middle.                                ░║█
            █║░                                         ░║█
            █║░  however, i was lulled into a false     ░║█
            █║░  sense of security when the black sea   ░║█
            █║░  version of æodessaÆ kicked in, with    ░║█
            █║░  another howl, this time more           ░║█
            █║░  electronic the pianos were now         ░║█
            █║░  synthed out keyboards. when the beat   ░║█
            █║░  comes in a sense of urgency and a      ░║█
            █║░  race against time is suggested with    ░║█
            █║░  the rise and fall of activity in the   ░║█
            █║░  backings, but the track calms down to  ░║█
            █║░  a flurry electronic samples and big    ░║█
            █║░  beat. another (tba) comes in shortly   ░║█
            █║░  after with a hint of horns, bongos     ░║█
            █║░  and deep pianos at the start before    ░║█
            █║░  the bass lulls and they all combine    ░║█
            █║░  for a slower mood with a bouncey       ░║█
            █║░  little beat. with occasional vocal     ░║█
            █║░  and orchestral samples its alright,    ░║█
            █║░  but doesnÆt excite. the final listed   ░║█
            █║░  track is entitled æblickpunkteÆ and    ░║█
            █║░  is a big beat finale with massive      ░║█
            █║░  orchestral samples leading into the    ░║█
            █║░  untitled outro that starts off a       ░║█
            █║░  little like a beethoven classic but    ░║█
            █║░  moves in a more eerie angle that       ░║█
            █║░  finishes off the release but why, i    ░║█
            █║░  am unsure.                             ░║█
            █║░                                         ░║█
            █║░  final thoughts though, this release    ░║█
            █║░  is awesome - when its out definitely   ░║█
            █║░  have a look. trust me, if you dig      ░║█
            █║░  jazzanova youÆll fall in love with     ░║█
