`:deluxe rerelease rather than an 18-track album, ôTrilogyö is'
`:a masterlist of Carpenter BrutÆs three EPÆs (EP I, EP II, EP'
`:III), three scintillating records that introduced to the :'
`:world the dark and futuristic-infused mastermind of :'
`:Carpenter Brut. :'

`:Each EP is a narrative of its own, which by themselves :'
`:sounds fantastic, and while sewn together one after another:'
`:doesnÆt have the same cohesive flow as one gigantic master :'
`:album, Carpenter BrutÆs skill and technique still reigns :'
`:supreme. The most accessible tracks on the album stand to be'
`:amongst the likes of ôSexkiller On The Loose,ö ôTurbo :'
`:Killer,ö and ô347 Midnight Demons,ö although obviously not :'
`:limited to these three. It is amongst tracks like these that'
`:Carpenter Brut puts on display his ear for fast and :'
`:energetic tunes set to the futuristic and dark landscape of:'
`:his world, and while the sounds are not particularly unique:'
`:or ground breaking (although deviating from 80Æs inspired :'
`:electro is difficult in itself), the French artist creates :'
`:opportunities for listeners to dance, despite the gloomy :'
`:atmosphere that the album affords. :'

`:ItÆs not all about the party though. ôEscape From Midwich :'
`:Valleyö opens up the album and clocks in at close to 7 :'
`:minutes, serving as a proper movie intro rather than a :'
`:straight up dance track. ôL.A Venice Bitch 80Æsö is closer :'
`:to an upbeat banger if not for the sound of police radios in'
`:the background, rooting this track more in the cinematic :'
`:atmosphere of the album. ôMeet Matt Strykerö is sinister and'
`:feels like the intro to a villain (or maybe even an anti- :'
`:hero), one that also has an inkling of danceability, while :'
`:ôParadise Warfareö is a jazzy and calming lounge track that:'
`:regulates the frenetic pace of Trilogy quite nicely. But, :'
`:most notably, ôInvasion A.D.ö and ôWake Up The Presidentö :'
`:sound jarring, horrific, but most importantly awesome. The :'
`:first few bars of ôWake Up The Presidentö should illustrate:'
`:perfectly what I mean by this, while ôInvasion A.D.ö has the'
`:sounds of wailing and screaming as the track closes. No big:'
`:deal. :'

`:ThereÆs little to no misses on an album that shows off just:'
`:how technically gifted Carpenter Brut is, especially on a :'
`:record that spans 18-tracks. In fact, it may be the copious:'
`:amount of tracks that could be considered TrilogyÆs :'
`:downfall, as some tracks do risk bleeding into each other :'
`:and sounding a little too alike. ôDivision Ruine,ö for :'
`:example, while fitting well with the themes of the album, :'
`:doesnÆt sound as cool as ôRun, Sally, Run!,ö both tracks :'
`:sounding like epic running songs. ôHangÆEm All,ö when set :'
`:next to ôLe Pervö and ôInvasion A.D,ö the ending tracks of :'
`:their respective EPÆs, sounds slightly underwhelming, :'
`:although this doesnÆt say much because HangÆEm All is still:'
`:an impressively produced song. An obvious way to remedy this'
`:would have been to include slower and more chill sounding :'
`:tracks, as cuts like ôParadise Warfareö and ôObituaryö :'
`:proves you can still create something that sounds visceral :'
`:and horrific without charging forward at breakneck speed. A:'
`:less obvious solution is demonstrated by ôAnarchy Roadö on :'
`:track 17, the only track on the massive album to feature a :'
`:vocalist, and it seems that the inclusion of a human voice :'
`:singing along to Carpenter BrutÆs tracks not only adds a :'
`:more pop dimension, but just adds a little bit more variety:'
`:to the album that we feel Trilogy is surely lacking. :'
`:Nevertheless, this is barely anything that detracts from :'
`:what is already a phenomenal production. :'

`:Music fans looking for something with a distinct 80Æs flair:'
`:should look no further. While the only downside that this :'
`:album truly suffers is its regrettably generic 80Æs feel, :'
`:especially when compared to some of Carpenter BrutÆs other :'
`:80Æs electro colleagues such as Tiga, M.O.O.N, and Trevor :'
`:Something, Carpenter Brut is nevertheless a phenomenal :'
`:artist with an ear for visceral sounds that sound punchy, :'
`:catchy, and cinematically horrific. Blending the gothic :'
`:sensibilities of the likes seen in Blade Runner with old :'
`:action and horror pronounced in franchises like Shin Megami:'
`:Tensei, Carpenter BrutÆs ôTrilogyö is as epic and hard- :'
`:hitting as it sounds. :'
