| | DJ Stew, the Boston DJ/Producer/Artist transplant is Juggling | |
| | living and studio locations in NYC, Orlando, Florida and Denver, | |
| | Colorado. He's on the verge of breaking big. His unique style of | |
| | mixing dirty house, new tech, and breakbeats with a dash of funky | |
| | flavor and a pinch of old school is catching on big | |
| | | |
| | The owner of his own independent label, FNKY (formerly Funky | |
| | Fresh Records), DJ Stew is setting out for world domination. The | |
| | Stew-man started out in the early 90's as a Billboard Reporter | |
| | and Mixshow hotmixer for KIX 106 (WWKX) and KISS 108 FM (WXKS) | |
| | bringing the underground house vibe to both stations mixshows. | |
| | Originally one half of the widely acclaimed remix duo "The Fitch | |
| | Brothers", he has remixed endless major label artists including; | |
| | Robin S, Crystal Waters, Ace of Base, Real McCoy, Tony Toni Tone, | |
| | Amber, Gina G, etc... More recently DJ Stew has done standout | |
| | remixes for DMC UK and Cheeky UK. | |
| | | |
| | The DJ Stew of today is an exciting artist whose vinyl offerings | |
| | have been hammered by the likes of Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, DJ Dan | |
| | and DJ Icey. His unreleased (then) mix of Insomnia may as well | |
| | have been one of the sought out records in America. After | |
| | receiving a fat stack of unreleased acetates at a Florida gig | |
| | directly from the Stew-man, Carl Cox has hammered these releases | |
| | on every broadcast and Club event he has played. | |
| | | |
| | DJ Stew received quite a bit of international acclaim for his 12" | |
| | inch single released on Henry Street Records entitled "Funky | |
| | Fresh". It was a club anthem on both sides of the Atlantic and | |
| | received back to back 5 Dancing men in UK Mixmag's "Update" | |
| | magazine. Multiple licensing occurred, most notable was the | |
| | Essential Mix Millennium 3 CD compilation (UK and USA) which has | |
| | sold well over a quarter of a million copies!!!!. A 3 CD set with | |
| | Tong, Oakenfold and Fatboy Slim on mixing duties, Funky Fresh was | |
| | included in Fatboy Slim's mix. This was complimented by tracks | |
| | such as "Ghetto Funk Baby", "Yo Leroy", "1-2-3" and "Bombin" all | |
| | released on DJ Stew's own FNKY Imprint. He was formerly managed | |
| | by the prestigious XMIX, home of Armand Van Helden and Armed | |
| | Records. | |
| | | |
| | Stew has taken a year off to immerse himself in many different | |
| | genres of music, soaked it all up like a sponge and now in 2005 | |
| | he is ready to release his stew styled new tech grooves to the | |
| | waiting dance floor enthusiasts. Anticipation is high and launch | |
