Stick on the A-side of Lerosa's first release on Lisbon's Assemble Music
and you'll be transported back to the 90s heyday of Clear, Phono and
Environ: HARKONNEN echoes the bubbly arpeggios and frenetic percussion of
vintage Morgan Geist, while SONG FOR D has that laid-back Herbert swagger,
albeit with a classic Lerosa sound palette. In fact, you can reference-spot
all you will, but listen to the A-side and you'll find the happy-sad chords
and deft arrangements at play in both ALICE and CARER are 100-proof Lerosa.
So put the history books down and drift off, without quite knowing whether
it's the lazy afternoon before the party or the hazy morning after, as the
sun filters softly through the blinds.
