Release Notes:
Defy recorded "All Because Of You" in 2002 but released it in
early 2003, hence why the CD says 2002 on the back, for proof go
to the bands website, http://www.defyonline.com/, and check the
discography section where it clearly states the release date.
Band Bio:
Commonly when someone thinks about the south and Mississippi,
their thoughts linger on southern hospitality, an overwhelming
sense of tradition and humid weather. A little bit deeper lies a
complex society, more closely interwoven than almost anywhere else
in the country, where friends know friends and six degrees of
separation turns to two. Deeper still, though, lies something
totally different.
Amidst the facade of compassion camaraderie lie prejudice and
resentment. The youth of the once renown south is changing to
catch the rest of the nation and the change is coming fast. One
product of this changing time is music and in the backwoods of
Mississippi something new has emerged.
In a world of neolithic pop hip rock kids, Defy has scoured away
the make up of its predecessors in order to achieve a pulse.
Spiking the vein that was once thought to hold integrity, Defy has
burrowed deep into the cataclysm of edgy rock that has ceased to
echo the voices of passion and labor. Defy is no alter ego life
cycle, but rather a perfectly pitched resemblance of the process
of birthing, living and dying.
Defy is Avi Ghosh, a talented, multi-instrumentalist who also
handles all aspects of recording, engineering, and producing. From
his vision, Defy was born and now the dream takes form. Within a
week of public release, the music of Defy shot to the top of the
Internet charts, instantly drawing an extremely eclectic group of
followers around the world. Even commercial radio stations in
Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio, and Missouri have picked up
on the buzz of Defy. With the release of the debut album, All
Because of You and this highly fucntional Web site, Avi Ghosh's
Defy is finally ready to etch a permanent place in music history.
