Pagan/Medieval/Fantasy Folk from Germany
Lyrics in various languages.
Tibetrea tells stories from all over the world. From
ancient Egyptian, Old English, Old High German, Old
Icelandic, Old Low German, Breton, Bulgarian, German,
English, Italian, Croatian, Latin, Latvian, Macedonian,
Romani, Scottish, Swedish, Sephardic, Hungarian to Manx,
Maori, Nahuatl and even Cree Languages in which
ancient times are sung.
Many of the songs are sung in honor of nature, or
narrated by dwarves, orcs, dragons and other mystical
figures.
In their fourth studio album the musicians of Tibetrea
bewitch their audience with a cornucopia of magical
sounds. Those who wish to discover a genuine treasure
trove or summon a god of fire will find just the right
incantation to accompany them on their quest. But
beware of creatures like lurking samodivas, deceitful
elves, ugly witches and the devil himself! The seething
mixture of modern beats, exceptional bass lines and
infectious trumpet solos makes listenersÆ limbs twitch.
And those who have dance in their souls will be
irresistibly moved by the Tibetrea Polka, the Andro or
the Wintersturm. The group uses traditional folk
instruments such as harp, recorder, guitar and cittern
to conjure a deeply mystical mood.
For their 10th anniversary the musicians undertake some
daring experiments: Bavarian sounds are are added to
the musical cauldron along with a hint of Goethe and a
pinch of swing music. Further ingredients for the
formula are polyrhythms, acoustic techno and cultist
chants.
