Release Notes:

A beautifully 24-bit remastered version of the fantastic first album by Fertile
Ground. It was a stunning debut in 1997 and one of the best underground soul
albums of the past decade! The record dips back into a spiritual jazzy tradition
that encompasses work by artists like Doug Carn or Earth Wind & Fire, but it's also
got a rawer edge that works perfectly with the righteousness of the group's
message. Vocalist Navasha D Boxley has a style that ranks with the best of singers
like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jean Carn, and Carmen Lundy. She's backed by sublime keyboard work
by James Collins and intricately jazzy drumming by Marcus Asante. This new
version really increases the sound from the original by pushing up the best
strengths of the record through newly-mixed takes in a way that gives the vocals
even more power!

Lo-fi & Neosoul lovers alike will enjoy this one...
