By combining raw vocal creativity and cutting
edge production, NowOn has geared up to make
music history. In an industry whose focus is
still on the ôcarbon-copy formulaö, NowOn
brings a fresh, creative and exciting energy to
Hip-Hop music. With emcees IX Lives and Jax,
formerly of the award-winning Hip-Hop band
Funktelligence, teaming up with DJ Haircut of
Athletic Mic League (AML), NowOn creates a vibe
where ônewö music no longer sounds like
something youÆve already heard. With the
combined skill of experienced Funktell emcees,
and with AML currently dominating Midwest
Hip-Hop, NowOn is an innovative, unstoppable
musical force ready to take over the planet.
NowOnÆs highly anticipated debut, ôFrom Now On,
The EPö is due out spring of 2005. The EP is
completely produced by The Lab Techs - the
hottest up and coming production team for
artists such as AML, Juice, Slum Village,
Invincible, Jean Grae and Wildchild of The
Lootpack. Included on the EP is a song that
features Speech, front man for the
multi-platinum selling band, Arrested
Development. ôFrom Now On, The EPö is a preview
to NowOnÆs upcoming full-length, ôEyeLevelö.
The group is currently looking for the right
label to release ôEyeLevelö, which also
features appearances from AML, Invincible,
Illite (of Subterraneous), S.U.N., and
Funktelligence.
Emcees IX Lives and Jax, have appeared on stage
with the Grammy Award winning artists Chaka
Kahn, Herbie Hancock and Arrested Development.
The duo also co-wrote and recorded songs for
Arrested DevelopmentÆs latest release ôAmong
the Treesö. NowOnÆs members have performed live
with Mos Def, The Roots, Talib Kweli, The
Pharcyde, De La Soul, and Little Brother, among
many others. The groupÆs members have toured
extensively in the U.S. and Japan, have
appeared on national television, have written
songs that were licensed for TV and film, and
have reached combined record sales of over
10,000 units. Producers, The Lab Techs (of
which DJ Haircut is a member), also produced
Athletic Mic LeagueÆs latest full-length
project, ôJungle Gym Jungle,ö which was
released in June 2004 on Barak Records (home of
DetroitÆs Slum Village, Dwele and Phat Kat).
NowOn is quite simply a forward-thinking group
of experienced performers, musicians,
songwriters and businessmen, who are prepared
for unlimited success, and are ready to spread
their innovative sound to the world.
