a new double album by tim story and roedelius is released on 22 february
in the uk. issued by the london-based gronland records, this combines the
sparse, sensuous piano and electronics of the original lunz album with a
second disc of stunning remixes.
while the first album is a reissue of the quiet, open and bewitching
affair, the second features mysterious vocals, angular beats, soundshaping
and other sonic effects from a stellar cast of remixers. the overall
effect is to highlight the hidden dramas lurking under the surface of the
original tracks.
contributors include alquimia, adem, half cousin, ulrich schnauss,
minotaur shock and lloyd cole.
the combination of 'old school' piano and electronica with the cutting
edge input of younger artists has attracted huge press interest in the uk.
so roedelius visited london to do interviews with bbc radio, xfm, plus the
national dailies sunday times and the guardian.
"roedelius is releasing a new album on label titled 'lunz
reinterpretations'. the project started in 2003 with the collaboration of
roedelius and acclaimed film composer tim story, who produced the work
under the banner of lunz. 'lunz reinterpretations' has been re-issued and
accompanied by an additional disc of remixes and variations of the
originals. the tracks include the remixing by alias, astrid kane,
faultline, elbow, ulrich schnauss, icarus, alquimia, half cousin, munk,
akham, and millenia nova.
"lunz reinterpretations" was aired in a half hour program as part of the
british one world show, on radio 1 featuring an interview with the
artist."
