▓ Strange Interlude is an unusual, and unusually good, ▓
▓ record on the Command label. "Gone with the Wind" ▓
▓ features the theremin, an electronic instrument ▓
▓ played by Walter Sear and Paul Lippman. "Wild Goose," ▓
▓ "Intermezzo," and "Spellbound" feature ondioline, ▓
▓ another electronic instrument lending strange sounds. ▓
▓ "Spellbound" (from the movie) is a classic theremin ▓
▓ track, and the switch to ondioline here is welcome. ▓
▓ The tunes are good choices, beginning with "Riders in ▓
▓ the Sky," and the instrumentation and performances ▓
▓ live up to the title's promise. In the often tiresome ▓
▓ Command catalog, it is indeed a refreshingly "Strange ▓
▓ Interlude." ▓
