As if they were enjoying riddles, the guys at Static Caravan
left the label of this sweet little piece of clear vinyl
totally blank so you have to take a close look at the code
imprint on the wax to figure out which one is side a.
Having accomplished that, you're in for two pretty electronic
tracks, precise yet oblique and rather beautiful with the right
amount of silence and sound, reminiscent of Isan, Plone and the
likes. Utilizing a wide variety of methods for sound
manipulation, E*vax thrives on taking simple, everyday,
household sounds and twisting them into rhythmic patterns.
These patterns are then recontextualized and layered with
melody to produce a subtle form of electro-acoustic music - and
yet despite all that, it's pop music at heart.
