│ ALEX GOPHER (his real name is Alexis Latrobe) started making music │
│ when he was 15 by playing the bass guitar. Then he set up a rock │
│ band called ORANGE where we could find XAVIER JAMAUX (aka BANG BANG │
│ & half of OLLANO), Jean-Benoεt & Nicolas from AIR and a singer (who │
│ is unknown) ... The band splitted up in 1989 and Alex still worked │
│ with Nicolas ... Nicolas loves pop music and started working with │
│ Jean-Benoεt but Alex prefered P-Funk and decided not to join AIR │
│ adventure ... He started working at TRANSLAB (a mastering │
│ enterprise) as a sound engineer. This didn't avoid him to launch │
│ SOLID record label with ETIENNE DE CRECY & PIERRE-MICHEL LEVALLOIS. │
│ He signed his 1st EP, the "Gopher EP", under ALEX name. But people, │
│ by reading what was written on the record, thought it was ALEX │
│ GOPHER's "EP" instead of ALEX's "GOPHER EP". So he chose to call │
│ himself ALEX GOPHER (GOPHER name refers to the stewart from "Love │
│ Boat" series) ... After that, he released lots of stuff and get │
│ some support from other french artists (like THOMAS BANGALTER from │
│ DAFT PUNK who supported him a lot during the making of his album │
│ "You, My Baby & I"). His debut album released in 99 after the │
│ releasing date was delayed many times and became quite successful │
│ thanks to the movies of "Party People" (directed by Quentin Dupieux │
│ aka MR OIZO) & "The Child" (made by H5 design enterprise), which │
│ are awesome. Then, he launched his dance-floor project, WUZ, for │
│ POUMTCHAK, SOLID's subdivision. In 2002, he produced the album of │
│ WUZ, where DEMON appeared : it was a house album which could remind │
│ MOTORBASS' "Pansoul". After having made a pause with SOLID, ALEX │
│ GOPHER is back with SUPER DISCOUNT 2 and he's preparing his next LP │
│ ... │
