For a GU-record, this one is, believe it or not, really E.A.S.Y. to
find. Spread through a lot of decent record stores, the people at
Peacefrog might have thought this was the record that would
introduce the Jeff-Mills-and-Darren-Emmerson-loving masses to GU.
We appreciate the iniative very much of course. But it seems the
GU-fanclub still consists out of a widespread core of mad music
lovers. Too bad, because this record has it all : a lot of jazz
(æTo The King O.I.Æ), dancefloor-bustinÆ grooves (æBlack SlavesÆ),
down-tempo funk (æNegro CryÆ) andàa GU Classic ! Yes, yes, yes :
æKeep The Hidden TreasuresÆ both states GUÆs ideas of Underground
music and brings us a very uncomplicated, joyfull and fresh
approach of Deep House music. The Hidden Treasures meant here are
definetely GU-records and the fact that they are hidden is well
illustrated by the fact that they are hard to find. Maybe those
beauties are meant to remain undiscovered by the masses to the end
of time. Amen. (Outspan)
