Afterimage is an international band based in New York City, that has been
playing since 1991. The lead singer and keyboardist Blake Morgan was born
into a New York family of writers and started studying classical music at
the age of five. He met the bass player Marko Ahtisaari at the United
Nations International School. Marko started in music by playing the violin
at age eleven, and later switched to the bass guitar. The young lads met in
the Chess Club, but were soon playing and writing music together. Marko
returned to Finland for high school, while Blake finished his studies in
New York and later went on to Berklee College of Music. There he met Moby
Pomerance, the guitarist for Afterimage. in 1993 the band hooked up with
drummer Tobias Gebb, who was studying jazz at the Manhattan School of
Music.
