|   |   2016 saw Midland revive his Graded label with its     |   |
|   |   third release, Blush coming from its owner. Now he    |   |
|   |   turns his attention to other producers and this       |   |
|   |   focus yields an atmospheric release form Solitary     |   |
|   |   Dancer. This mysterious Canadian producer clearly     |   |
|   |   takes his cues from reflective Detroit techno and     |   |
|   |   electro as much as the sung rhythms of UK bass.       |   |
|   |   Indeed the release closer, "Paradise Found (Rapture   |   |
|   |   Version)" is precisely the kind of distant planet     |   |
|   |   soundtrack one would expect to hear on a John         |   |
|   |   Beltran album. That's not to dismiss Solitary         |   |
|   |   Dancer's dance floor-centred approach and the         |   |
|   |   churning bass and stepping rhythm of "Desire &        |   |
|   |   Apathy" host the kind of mysterious synth motifs      |   |
|   |   that one would expect to hear on a vintage Drexciya   |   |
|   |   recor                                                 |   |
