Guitarist/vocalist Sal Medrano for Boston punkrock outfit Rebuilder recently
said, 'How do we follow up 'Rock and Roll In America' when the whole country
has gone to shit? By doing the only thing that can save us, playing Rock &
Roll. 'Sounds from the Massachusetts Turnpike' pays homage to our great
state, navigating through twist and turns of feelings. It's okay to not be
okay. Let's rock.'
And that's exactly what they do on their new 6-song EP, 'Sounds From The
Massachusetts Turnpike'. Play catchy punk rock with plenty of melody and just
enough of a raw edge. You know, the kind where everyone rushes the stage as
soon as the band starts, yelling along to the lyrics and turning a shitty day
into a good one.
Rebuilder isn't reinventing the wheel here, but they sound like they mean it.
And it sounds pretty damn good. The songs might have become a bit moodier
compared to 'Rock And Roll In America', but they still pack all the energy
and melody you can wish for.
