2009 saw the release of one of ROME's most important oeuvres to date: ôFlowers
From Exileö. This seminal album was introduced to ROME's evergrowing fanbase
with the teaser single ôTo Die Among Strangersö, whose digipak edition sold out
weeks before its actual release, proving the fact that ROME had already gained a
considerable following at the time.
Title track ôTo Die Among Strangersö, which introduced the theme of war and
exile of ôFlowers From Exileö, as well remixes of earlier classics ôReversionö
and ôWir G÷tter der Stadtö, and the extra long dark ambient collage ôMourir A
Madridö.
ROME have found a unique and authentic approach to making music by combining
fine poetry, (post)apocalyptic folk music, industrial collages with the
tristesse of post-punk and have thus created a style distinctly of their own.
