ideologicalalignment or descending into nihilism, the song cycle portrays
thehistory of the libertarian/revolutionary movement within Europe andat the
same time underlines the human importance of such anendeavour. After volume 1
tried to capture the initial spark of arevolt, the strength of an awakening,
volume 2 concerns itself withthe beauty of the righteous fight and also the
constantly impendingdanger of it becoming perverted. ôWe must doubt ourselves.
