Folk-Rock from Bucharest, Romania
Bucium are a Romanian ambient folk-rock band defined by
the use of two violins together with guitar, bass,
drums, traditional instruments and vocals. Coming from
a progressive area, Bucium convey - in a contemporary
note - traditions, rhythms and popular believes, along
with a show containing multimedia projection that turns
their LIVE performance into a true cultural musical
act.
The idea of the "Live in the Hidden Woods" album was to
record the most appreciated and beloved songs in a
manner that defines us as a band. The recordings were
made by our friend - Alex Pascu û from Goodbye to
Gravity band who also mixed the first song from the
disc. The disc's mix was put on hold by the unfortunate
event #colectiv, the material itself being more than a
revival for us. Afterwards the disc went to Switzerland
at Little Creek Studio, where the experienced musician
and producer V. O. Pulver (Gurd, Destruction,
Poltergeist, Darkmoon) finished the mixing process. The
disc contains two bonus tracks (Colindul Cerbului and
Sus la Cheia Raiului) as a tribute to our ex-drummer
Adrian Rugina who recorded the songs with us. We
dedicate this disc to our friends Alex Pascu, Adrian
Rugina, Alex Chelba, Mihai Alexandru, Vlad Telea,
Bogdan Enache and to all touched by the Colectiv
tragedy.
