SHINDIG started in 1997 as a full-sized band playing music that mixed emo,
poppunk and even acoustic hardcore. They played Warped Tour 2000, but broke up
in May 2003 in the middle of tour. Ritchie Ray decided that instead of canceling
the remaining three months of tour, he would pick up an acoustic guitar and
perform solo. Apparently, this was a hit. SHINDIG has since shared the stage
with FUGAZI, FALL OUT BOY, RUFIO, NEW FOUND GLORY and THURSDAY. When Words
Aren't Enough serves as a throwback to the glory days of seven inches and EPs.
More than a holdover to the next album, When Words Aren't Enough showcases
SHINDIGs unique talents regarding the acoustic guitar, piano and even an
aptitude for electronica.
