Release Notes:
Husband and wife team, Stephen and Sherilyn Collins
as Deadman now build on the sound introduced on
ôParamourö (1st album, 2001) adding a deeply
soulful, spiritual element speaking of redemption
and the hope of the eternal. As with ôParamourö,
ôOur Eternal Ghostsö was produced by renowned
producer/engineer Mark Howard, whose resumΘ includes
Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Chris
Whitley, Marianne Faithfull, U2 and former boss
Daniel Lanois. Stephen sent Howard a homemade EP of
Deadman songs ûafter a lengthy silence the band
figured nothing would come of it. Then one day they
came home to find a message from Howard announcing
it was time to record. Without a second thought,
Steven and Sherilyn loaded up their car, drove to
Los Angeles, and made ôParamourö, named after
HowardÆs studio. In January 2004, the editors of
Billboard Magazine and Disc Makers selected Deadman
out of 1700 bands as the Grand Prize Winner in the
Independent Music World Series.
Press Quotes
"Texan duo Deadman are equally haunting on sophomore
release Our Eternal Ghosts. Adrift on gentle washes
of synths, weeping steel and harsh twang, Steven and
Sherilyn CollinsÆ songs hark back to a world of
clapboard churches and baptist hymns, but thereÆs a
smouldering paranoia to this music too, that reeks
of Woody Guthrie and SpringsteenÆs Ghost Of Tom
Joad." - UNCUT
