note: these are the remixes included in the album 'singles
1997-2000' released by kW some time ago.
"first these remixes were aimed to be released on cd in japan only.
due to high demand now they get a release on vinyl.
the first track of the ep is calm's remix of 'introspection' taken
from jazzanova ep2. the japanese calm show just how wonderful a
remix can be, mixing organics with electronic, this track is a must
have for people who like quality music.
'coffee talk' the exclusive track for the future sounds of jazz
vol. 4 compilation is remixed by yukihiro fukutomi. yukihiro
fukutomi started his career as a dj at clubs like 'gold', 'zoo' and
'cave' in tokyo. at the same time he started working as a composer,
arranger, programmer and producer. fukutomi was also involved with
the programming for pizzicato 5. he is one of the up-coming
leftfield artists from japan, delivering a fresh sound combining
house, nu-jazz and 2step flavours. his first 12" on jcr came out a
couple of months ago. a stunning tune, showing fukutomi's great
talent in music.
'fedime's flight' taken from jazzanova ep1 on jcr gets the
jazzed-up treatment by the kyoto jazz massive. kjm are japan's
first address when it comes to innovative jazz-influenced music.
their rework is a fine new version handling the original with big
respect. the true spirit of the classic original will live on with
this remix and plenty of airplay is already guaranteed." -
