g-litter's self-titled debut album including 6 brand new tracks
plus their already released singles "kaksipiippuinen juttu" and
"paiste".
The freshest comparison points to G-Litter's music can be found in
modern european jazzfusion in which recycling the old to find new
sounds and audiences has become a good solution. G-Litter's roots
are easy to find in the lyric european jazz of the 60s and the 70s,
jazzy folk and jazz rock. The bands debute album can be compared
with Pekka Streng's beautiful KesΣmaa LP and the swede Turid
Lundqwists sensitive folk rock records. The opening track 'Paiste'
differs from others, being a high tempo funk-disco piece which
succeeds in sounding summery with the help of flute and bright
guitar sounds. Electric violin and Rhodes piano bring unusual depth
to the disco sound. In the only real vocal piece of the album, Maan
Alle, the band combines tender folk vocal with jazz rock.
